A water heater will typically provide you with some warning signs before it fails completely. However, there are some instances where a repair can help extend the life of your unit. Be on the lookout for the following issues and we can help you determine whether you need a repair or a replacement.
• If your water looks rusty or is some other type of odd color, then you more than likely need a new system. The reason is that the inside of your tank has probably corroded, and there is no way that it can be repaired.
• If you have an older system that hasn’t yet developed any problems, consider having the tank flushed regularly to remove contaminants. You should also think about having the anode replaced or have an extra anode added. This is a device that is designed to attract corrosive elements so they do not attack the inside of your tank. This could help your system last longer.
• Any sort of strange noise coming from your water heater is a sign that it may need to be replaced soon. Those noises are pieces of sediment that have accumulated to the point that they are causing problems.
