The Best Fast Lunch Spots in Austin
Plumbing and HVAC technicians work around the clock and work all around the city. They need substance, energy, and refreshment on the go during the work week. Austin, TX is famous for its unrivaled food scene — especially for the lunch hour. We asked our team to share their favorite local spots to grab a snack or a quick meal in between jobs. If you live in Austin, you need to try these. If you don’t live in Austin, it’s time to pack your bags!

Jewboy Burgers
What originally started out as a food truck has flourished into a permanent location in the heart of the city. Jewboy Burgers effortlessly blends Texas border culture with Jewish cuisine to form a truly unique dining experience. This Austin staple got the most upvotes from our team, with everyone raving about their queso, tater tots, and fries. “They just do ‘em right!” said one of our techs. Jewboy Burgers is located on Airport Boulevard, dangerously close to Radiant HQ. Don’t be surprised if you see one or two of our eye-catching trucks parked outside come lunch time.
P. Terry’s
Terry’s Burger Stand is truly iconic, first and foremost for its retro architectural design and vibrant neon signs. It’s their burgers that keep folks coming back for more. You can’t go wrong with their classic hamburger: 100% all-natural Black Angus beef patty, served with lettuce, tomato, and special sauce. What our team likes most about P. Terry’s is their fresh ingredients, fast service, and their lemonade of all things! If an establishment is claiming to have the best lemonade in Austin, that’s saying something. If you haven’t already, you have to try it!
Hoody’s Subs
When you have a few minutes to spare in between calls, nothing hits the spot quite like a sandwich. Hoody’s is the ideal choice for techs who find themselves in North Austin, strategically located in the heart of Round Rock. Our team’s favorite is the Philly cheesesteak sub. Hoody’s is one of two entries on our list who were touted as having the best Philly cheesesteak sub in the city by our team. Keep scrolling to see who they’re up against.
Tejas Birria
When we asked our team about their favorite lunch spots around Austin, Tejas Birria received the bold endorsement of: “everything there is amazing!” The first food truck on our list, Tejas Birria is located in Buda. This authentic Mexican establishment incorporates, you guessed it, Birria in most of their dishes. Essentially tender meat braised in a delicious broth, Birria is served in a variety of formats. We recommend trying the QuesiBirria Tacos Plate.
Delaware Subs
Delaware Subs is our second contender for the finest Philly cheesesteak in the city. If quality meat is a priority for you, this is the place to go. Delaware Subs guarantees only the finest delicatessen meats on their sandwiches. They’re so confident in the quality of their meat, they’ve adopted the slogan: “no bologna here!”
Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ
Texas BBQ is the kind of thing you want to enjoy with family and friends, not as a quick bite in between calls. But we would be remiss if we didn’t include one BBQ entry on our list. We are in the great state of Texas after all. As its name suggests, Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ perfectly blends two beloved Texas cuisines: TexMex and Barbecue. Here you can experience a delightful collision of homemade verde salsa, jam packed with cilantro, tomatillo, and chile, and smokey, fatty brisket. For a quick bite, we recommend trying the smoked brisket taco. You won’t regret it!
As you can see, no matter where Radiant techs find themselves, they’re never far from a delicious meal. We won’t say any of our team members who moved from out of state did so for the food. But once they experienced Austin’s unique cuisine, they were sure glad they made the move. Radiant is the definition of stability. We’ve been serving communities across Central Texas for over 20 years.
