We wonder at times what people must think if they hear kids and dogs in the background when booking their service call. While we strive to create a “professional” atmosphere, this is a Mom and Pop’s business in every sense. 4 kids and 2 dogs definitely add to the excitement around here! Our kids have learned from observation what a good employee is and the respect they earn from us. They have also seen the bad and the consequences. You know your kids are not leading a normal life when their conversation in the backseat of the car is related to an interview they sat in on or their favorite TV show, The Apprentice. I do think having them in and out of this office has helped us make better hiring decisions. With each new hire, we have to ask ourselves whether or not we want this person hanging around our kids every day. If the answer is no, then we don’t hire them. Thus, we are surrounded by employees who we feel great about going into our customer’s homes.
