Our February Radiant Helping Hands Donation Went to the Great Folks at Catalyst Teen Center in North Austin.
Their mission is to create a challenging training ground for young leaders in our community and inspire them to make a real impact. They believe that developing the gifts of each teenager is vital to their success in life. Their goal is to send students into the world who are confident in their identity, are willing to make sacrificial risks for those in need, and who can endure hardship for the sake of something greater than themselves.
They already have a great following of youth. They are trying to give them the opportunity to enrich their lives by developing their talents, whether that is through music, art, or just the social aspect of community that they develop there. In an age of social media and how many digital friends people have in their network, its nice to see an organization that is trying to foster real human relationships in the youth that have grown up behind a screen.
They are currently housed in the Northwest Fellowship Church at 13427 Pond Springs Rd. in Austin who they partner with for their activities’ space requirements. They have a 3-phase plan to grow the project and hopefully take it to a level where they have a charter school and satellite locations to empower more youth.
We are very happy to be able to partner with an organization of people who give so much of their time and effort, free of charge, to try and build a better future for all of us. If you are interested in donating, working with them, or even attending some of their classes or programs be sure and check them out. You can see the passion when you speak with them and see the great environment they are building.
